一、圣诞布丁

美国人吃火鸡的习俗是将火鸡的腹内装填各种材料，放入烤箱内烤熟。等烤熟后将整只火鸡端上桌，再用刀叉把烤好的火鸡分切一起享用。换句话说，他们吃的是“全鸡”。至于为什么不分好再端上桌?这大概就像我们在大年夜吃鱼，不会用鱼片而用全鱼上桌是一样的道理。不但兼顾了菜色的美观和视觉的丰富性。同时，也有全家人团聚在一起的享用大餐的象征。

三、佳音队
平安夜当晚，都会看到一群可爱的小男生或小女生，手拿诗歌弹着吉他，一家一家的唱着诗歌报佳音。那么佳音队这种节日活动是怎么来的呢?
耶稣诞生的那一晚，一在旷野看守羊群的牧羊人，突然听见有声音自天上传来，向他们报耶稣降生的好消息。后来人们就效仿天使，在平安夜的晚上到处报人传讲耶稣降生的消息，直到今日，报佳音已经变成圣诞节不可缺少的一个节目。
通常佳音队是由大约二十名青年人，加上一个装扮成天使的小女孩和一位圣诞老人组成，在平安夜晚上大约九点过后，开始一家一家的去报佳音。佳音队每到一个家
庭，会先唱几首大家都熟悉的圣诞歌曲，然后再由小女孩念出圣经的话语让该户人家知道今夜是耶稣降生的日子，过后大家一起祷告再唱一两首诗歌，再由慷慨大方
的圣诞老人派送圣诞礼物给那个家庭中的小孩子，整个报佳音的过程就完成了。整个报佳音的活动大约要持续到第二天凌晨四点左右才结束。
圣诞夜的高潮是基督教堂在圣诞夜举行的活动。圣诞夜弥撒一般分为两次，晚上9～10点的一次对教众举行;另一次是子夜时分的大弥撒，这是圣诞夜的高潮。子夜大弥撒在午夜结束，此时，正好圣诞节来临，常常伴随着教堂的钟声，敲响了对世界的宽恕、祝福和欢乐、幸福。

圣诞夜唱圣诞歌，这是古老的传统；据不完全统计，全世界有记载的圣诞歌约有上千首；久唱不衰的有五十几首，而最有名的圣诞歌是《平安夜》。这首歌共有6小节，通常流行的是3小节（原作中的第一、第二和第六小节）第一节的歌词大意为：平安夜，神圣的夜！/人人安息，/至圣独醒。/慈祥鬈发的儿子，/睡吧，在美妙的宁静中，/睡吧，在美妙的宁静中。第一句就是“平安夜”，歌名因此也叫《平安夜》，从此，圣诞夜就得名“平安夜”
中国也非传统基督教国家，然而香港及澳门在殖民时期分别受到英国及葡萄牙的影响，平安夜是年轻人、小孩子以至所有人都会庆祝的日子。数以十万计的香港市民会到尖东欣赏圣诞灯饰，及到酒店吃自助餐；不少人会在平安夜交换礼物，年轻情侣则会到尖沙咀欣赏圣诞灯饰，开圣诞派对，或到兰桂坊等地狂欢，基督教及天主教徒则会参加报佳音等宗教聚会。平安夜也令不少年轻人在这晚“初尝禁果”，因此当地有“平安夜，失身夜”之说，香港家庭计划指导会、母亲的抉择等组织每年都接到不少求助。在澳门，每逢踏入十二月大街小巷都会粉饰得充满浓厚的欧陆圣诞气氛，圣诞树、马槽、彩带、灯色随处可见。在平安夜，年青人联朋结队到中区逛街，又喜欢到议事亭前地和大三巴牌坊欣赏分别由天主教会和基督教团体所举办的圣诞报佳音。到了午夜，澳门各堂区的天主教堂分别举行圣诞子夜弥撒，尤其以主教座堂人数最多，圣诞钟声遍及全城，即使非天主教的市民也喜欢到教堂感受圣诞节的宗教气氛。而澳门的皇朝区亦人潮如鲗，年青人到酒吧狂欢佳节。
